REELI

A way to view movies at home with friends and family during COVID-19. Presented by AMC.

THE ASK

Due to COVID-19, movie theaters have closed their doors and movie premiers have gone from the Hollywood red carpet to everyone's living rooms. While we can still view movies, we need a way to gather with friends and family to experience home entertainment together.

How can AMC bring the movie theater experience to people's homes in an already saturated market?

THE CONCEPT

A streaming service that allows users to purchase tickets for at home movie premiers with their friends and family. The premiers will be at set times, so the excitment of movie going is still present. AMC will partner with GoPuff to provide bundles packages of snacks and tickets.

THE GOAL

Allow AMC to still premier movies, and create an outlet for movie goers to connect and still experience the excitment of movie premeirs during COVID-19.

KEY FEATURES

HOMESCREEN

The home screen displays the newest movies available for viewing. The search option is included because while conducting user testing, it was evident that users most often already have a certain movie in mind when planning a movie night.

SELECT VIEWING TIME

To keep the anticipation of viewing a movie real-time, multiple movie times are available for everyday. Each time slot has a space limit of 50 attendees, so that viewers can connect with each other in the chatroom after viewing the movie.

SELECT BUNDLE

THE CHATROOM

The chatroom allows for movie enthusiasts to discuss after viewing the movie. Topics in the chatroom include, cinematography, writing, directing, acting, sound design, and set design. It was important to include a way for viewers to connect given the circumstances of COVID-19- it provides a community for people to bond over a greatly missed pre-pandemic activity.
