PARACHUTE

Parachute is a unique bedding and decor company

THE ASK

There are various types of materials that people can dress their beds in. There are over 15 types of materials that sheets can be made with. People are aware of all the various types of bedding, but are unsure of which material is right for them. Some sleepers enjoy being warm and cozy, while some enjoy a breezy, cool nest to sleep in.

How can users easily identify and shop for the right bedding material for them?

TOOL KIT:

Sketch, Photoshop, Invision

MY ROLE:

Website redesign, strategy, visual design, UI design, prototyping, user testing

THE CONCEPT

An interactive quiz that guides users through their sleep habits to determine which material is right for them.

THE GOAL

Educate users on bedding material and redesign Parachute's website to incorporate modern, colorful elements.

PROTOTYPE

KEY FEATURES

The material match quiz educates the user about why their sleep habits should be accounted for when shopping for bedding. I wanted the language in the quiz to be fun and light. I then created animations to add excitement and life into the quiz.

THE CHECKOUT PROCESS

I created more filter options to allow for a more streamlined shopping experience. When user testing, I found that users felt overwhelmed by all the options for bedding. I decided to combat this by adding multiple subcategories for bedding material and bedding size.

DESIGN PROCESS

MOODBOARD

Parachute uses materials from the Mediterranean Coast to make their products. To tell the story of Parachute's origins, I took inspiration from the Mediterranean sea, and used colors that resembled the ocean and the bright colored houses that accompany the coast. I also wanted to cleanup the website to allow for the bright colors and bedding materials to standout.
